Quick dinner and extreme cuteness

Tonight I just threw together a quick bite because I got home late, using odds and ends from the fridge and the pantry. A box of Mac and Chreese (Cheddar style with shells) and some mixed veggies on top and a cup of tomato soup with some Ritz-style crackers I picked up at Food Fight. I'm really becoming a big lover of those Imagine brand aseptic sealed soups. So convenient and they taste really good!

Tonight was Moussa house cleaning night, so after a brief romp around the house (in her plastic ball) while I cleaned, I took some footage of her enjoying a corn cob. You'll see Ravi, who makes a cameo appearence in this film. The video is sideways, I was holding the camera the long way and I couldn't figure out how to rotate it, sorry!

I also uploaded a painfully cute picture of her to the Herbivore Blog today. It's so adorable, you can even make out her delicate little whiskers!

Apparently chewing plastic isn't that unusual, see http://www.raleighrodentrescue.org/hamster-care.html Maybe they would have some suggestions about a litter box substitute. I don't know how big those are, would some metal pan work?

Those Danish over at herbivore are to die for...

oh, the cuteness!!!! she is adorable. and lucky you, that the cats don't bother her.

we have six kitties and they've formed gangs that need separating when we're not home. craziness! when i worked as a wildlife rehabber, our Mad Max would station himself atop the crate that would house baby squirrels I was raising, and we could never be sure if he was guarding them or lying in wait for one of the little buggers to escape. :)

great blog and congrats on the Herbivore store, it looks amazing!

I can't get over how cute she is. I love watching her little mouth as she's chewing.

Those Pacific brand soups are great! I just recently got hooked on them and eat them (usually with a few additions) for a quick and satisfying meal.

I have been wanting to place an order at Food Fight but have been procrastinating! I really must! Seeing is that I cannot find Vegan Worchestshire Sauce anywhere local let alone numerous other things! ;)

Moussa is going to town on that corn! Super cute. I love how Ravi comes in with him too.

I still can't get over that Moussa is from AZ!

Anyone know of an online source for Pacific soups? Thanks.

I read your entry over on the Herbivore blog, and I doubt she is acting out unless you've been noticing a LOT of chewing all over the place. I noticed you have lots of plastic in the cage, and if she's only chewing the one plastic item, it's probably because she just plain likes the texture. The things you place in her cage may seem all the same to us, but to a hamster, all chew toys are not created equal! You might try a different brand of potty, she may not like the consistency of a different type as well.

Hey - if you ever figure out how to rotate the video, please let me know. I can't for the life of me figure it out either (then again, I'm really not technically oriented).

I've got to stop by Herbivore sometime, if I ever get my butt out of the house :)

Thanks to everyone for your posts. I tend to get behind in responding, so I'm just going to do a round-up response.

I will have to look into getting a different kind of litter box for Moussa. The plastic kind that we have are all that I've seen that are really small. I got the corn cob holder I think at Pet Smart. That was in Phoenix, but I'm sure they have them everywhere, it was one of the bigger brands. I'll be sure to let everyone know if I figure out how to rotate it. Thanks to you all for turning your head to witness the cuteness that is Moussa Mousekawitz.
